Train it in TheoriaAbout the Stahlberg Variation
The Stahlberg Variation is Black's alternative to the Carlsbad Variation 7...Nxd2 in the Romanovsky Gambit line of the Spielmann Variation. Instead of exchanging the e4-knight for White's dark-squared bishop, Black uses it to win back the c5-pawn, and the recapture gains time because the knight now hits the queen on b3. Material is level, the c- and d-files are half-open, and White must first find a square for the queen.
