Train it in TheoriaAbout the Murrey Variation
The Murrey Variation, also spelled Murey, deviates from the main line 4...d5. With 4...Nc6, Black develops a piece and leaves the e4-knight undefended. The knight is not actually lost, because 5. Bxe4 d5 hits the bishop, and a pawn fork then regains the material. Black is temporarily a pawn up and keeps the e5-pawn. The line gives up the central share and open bishop lines that 4...d5 provides, and it is rarely seen.
