Train it in TheoriaAbout the Berger Variation
In the Berger Variation, White answers Morphy's 6...Bc5, which offers the h8-rook to a knight fork on f7, with the developing 7. Nc3 instead of taking material. The knight adds pressure to the black pawns on e4 and d5, and the line frequently transposes into other branches of the del Rio Attack. Sources regard 7. Nxe4 Be7 8. Qg4 as the more convincing route to a White advantage, while 7. Nxf7 is less clear.
