Train it in TheoriaAbout the Furman Variation
The Furman Variation, named after Semyon Furman, departs from the usual 6. O-O of the classical Queen's Gambit Accepted with 6. Qe2. The queen backs up a later e3-e4 push, and after dxc5 it avoids the queen exchange Black could otherwise force on d1. In the main line, 6...a6 7. dxc5 Bxc5 8. O-O Nc6 9. e4 b5 10. e5, White expels the f6-knight and gains kingside space, while Black has open c- and d-files for counterplay.
