About the Christensen Gambit

The Christensen Gambit is one of the gambit lines that follow 5. Qb3 Qe7 in the Old Variation. With 6. Nf3, White develops the king's knight instead of recovering the d4-pawn, so Black stays a pawn ahead while White gains time. The usual reply is 6...dxe3, after which White scores well. The engine prefers the check 6...Qb4+, which has brought Black far better results, and it rates the position as roughly level. The gambit is rarely played.
