About the Korchnoi Gambit

The Korchnoi Gambit is one of four sixth-move gambit tries after 1. d4 d5 2. c4 dxc4 3. e3 e5 4. Bxc4 exd4 5. Qb3 Qe7. The others are the Christensen (6. Nf3), Billinger (6. a3) and Novikov (6. Nd2) Gambits. With 6. Kf1 White steps off the e-file, where Black's queen stands, and forfeits castling instead of recapturing on d4. White stays a pawn down, with queen and bishop aimed at f7.
