About the Romanishin Attack

The Romanishin Attack is White's quietest choice against the Modern Variation, 6...Nxd5. Rather than 7. Qc2, 7. e3 or 7. Qa4+, White develops the queen's bishop to d2, where it guards the c3-knight. If Black exchanges on c3, White can recapture with the bishop and keep the pawn structure intact. The d4-pawn faces Black's e6-pawn across half-open c- and d-files, and the game is decided mainly by piece play and central control.
