Train it in TheoriaAbout the Alekhine Gambit
The Alekhine Gambit is a line of the Closed Ruy Lopez (the Closed Spanish). In it Black chooses the old-fashioned 8...Na5, which drives the bishop to c2 and is followed by the queenside expansion ...c5 and ...Qc7. White routes the queen's knight via d2 and f1. After 12...Bg4 13. Ne3 Bxf3 14. Qxf3, Black has given up the bishop pair. Material stays level, White's queen stands actively on f3, and the d4 and e4 pawns keep their hold on the center.
