Train it in TheoriaAbout the Dilworth Variation
The Dilworth Variation comes from the Italian line 9...Bc5. After 10. Nbd2 O-O 11. Bc2, Black meets the threat to e4 with 11...Nxf2, a forcing idea introduced by the English amateur Vernon Dilworth. After 12. Rxf2 f6 13. exf6 Bxf2+ 14. Kxf2 Qxf6, Black has rook and pawn for two minor pieces and pressure on the f-file. White can also try 13. Nf1. The resulting endgames are unbalanced but tend toward draws. Artur Yusupov has adopted it repeatedly.
