Train it in TheoriaAbout the Knorre Variation
The Knorre Variation, 6. Nc3, departs from the main lines of the Open Ruy Lopez. White does not recover the pawn at once with 6. d4 or 6. Re1. Instead, the queen's knight develops and immediately contests the black knight on e4. For the moment White remains a pawn down and relies on rapid development and the half-open e-file while the black king is still in the center.
