About the Motzko Attack

The Motzko Attack is a seldom-played reply to the Italian Variation of the Open Spanish. Instead of the usual developing moves, White plays 10. Qd3. From d3 the queen attacks the advanced knight on e4. Along the half-open d-file it also joins the Bb3 in bearing down on d5. The usual answer is 10...Ne7, the Nenarokov Variation, which reinforces the d5 pawn.
