A sharp Schliemann Defense line in which 7...Qd5 forks White's c6-knight and b5-bishop, met almost always by the deflecting 8. c4.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Möhring Variation
In the Dyckhoff line of the Schliemann Defense, 7...Qd5 attacks both the c6-knight and the b5-bishop at once. White, a pawn up for the moment, nearly always replies 8. c4, deflecting the queen from its double attack; 8. Nxa7+ and 8. Qe2 are much rarer. Engines give White a slight edge, although Black has scored well in the small number of games that reach the position.
