Train it in TheoriaAbout the Lipnitsky Variation
The Lipnitsky Variation arises in the Deferred Steinitz when White gives up the Spanish bishop with 6. Bxc6+ bxc6 and opens the center with 7. d4, and Black replies 7...Bg4. The bishop pins the f3 knight, which defends d4, and adds pressure to White's center. Black accepts doubled c-pawns and an isolated a-pawn. In return Black keeps the bishop pair and gains the half-open b-file. White relies on the central pawns on d4 and e4.
