Kádas Gambit

The Kádas Gambit extends the Modern Variation's 2...Nf6 3. d4 with a second pawn offer. After 3...c6 4. dxc6 e5, Black is two pawns down, and White's c-pawns are doubled. In return Black gets open c-, d- and e-files and quick development. White's most common reply is 5. dxe5, with 5. cxb7 and 5. Nf3 the other main tries. Engines give White a large advantage, but Black has scored well in online games.
