A speculative Modern Scandinavian line in which Black, after 3...g6 4. c4, offers the b-pawn with 4...b5 to undermine White's hold on d5.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Wing Gambit
The Wing Gambit comes from the Richter Variation, 3. d4 g6, in which Black prepares to fianchetto the king's bishop. White answers 4. c4, securing the extra pawn on d5. With 4...b5 Black, already a pawn down, offers a second pawn on the wing. The aim is to undermine the c4 pawn that supports d5, regain the central pawn, and open lines for the bishop on the long diagonal.
