About the Millennium Variation

The Millennium Variation, 6...Qg6, moves Black's queen a second time instead of developing with the traditional 6...Nge7. From g6 the queen eyes the e4-pawn and the g-file toward g2, so White's next move usually deals with the e-pawn. 7. Nd2 is the most frequent answer, followed by 7. Qf3, while the less common 7. f3 has scored well for White. The engine rates the position as roughly balanced and prefers Qd3, Qe2 or Qf3.
