Train it in TheoriaAbout the Tartakower Variation
The Tartakower Variation is one of the ways White can protect the e4-pawn in the Schmidt Variation after 5. Nxc6 bxc6, choosing 6. Nd2 in place of the sharper Mieses push 6. e5 or Schmidt's own 6. Bd3. The usual answer is 6...d5, though 6...Bc5 is also seen. A typical sequence runs 6...d5 7. exd5 cxd5 8. Bb5+ Bd7 9. Bxd7+ Qxd7 10. O-O Be7 11. c3. Once the light-squared bishops are traded, Black is left with an isolated pawn on d5, which White sets out to blockade and attack.
