Qa4, pinning along the a-file to prevent ...axb5 and making ...Ngxe5 awkward because of a discovered check. After 12...Ngxe5 13. Nxe5 Nxe5 14. Nd6+ Ke7 15. Nxc8+ Rxc8 16. Bxa6 Ra8, White is clearly better. The line is rarely played.
