An offbeat, dubious anti-Sicilian in which White brings the queen out to g4 on move two, inviting Black to gain time with ...Nf6 or ...Nc6.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Amazon Attack
The Amazon Attack, 2. Qg4, develops the queen before any minor piece, eyeing g7 and d7 but achieving nothing concrete. Black gains time by developing with tempo, most naturally 2...Nf6, and 2...Nc6 and 2...d6 are also common. The engine gives Black a slight edge, and in online play Black wins roughly two-thirds of the games. The move is rarely seen and is regarded as a poor anti-Sicilian.
