A rare Sicilian sideline in which Black follows the dubious 2...f5 pawn offer with 3...Nh6, planning to win back the f5-pawn with the knight.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Double-Dutch Gambit
The Double-Dutch Gambit arises from the Brussels Gambit, 2...f5, in which Black gives up the f-pawn to draw White's e-pawn away from d5. After 3. exf5 Black plays 3...Nh6, aiming to regain the pawn with ...Nxf5 rather than striking with ...d5, which would leave e5 and e6 as holes. White is advised to permit the recapture and concentrate on development. The gambit is regarded as unsound, and the loosened a2-g8 and e8-h5 diagonals remain a lasting concern.
