The Hungarian Dragon postpones ...Bg7 with 6...Nc6, then answers 7. f3 with 7...h5, restraining White's g4 advance and keeping the dark-squared bishop uncommitted. The point shows after 8. Qd2 Nxd4 9. Bxd4 Bh6, offering the bishop trade on h6. Following 10. Be3 Bxe3 11. Qxe3, minor pieces leave the board and Black's shortage of space becomes less of a burden than in the main Yugoslav lines.
