Train it in TheoriaAbout the Heidenfeld Variation
The Heidenfeld Variation is a branch of the Alapin Sicilian, 2. c3, reached after 2...Nf6 3. e5 Nd5 4. Nf3 Nc6 5. Na3. Because the c3-square is already taken by a pawn, White develops the queen's knight via the rim, from where it can jump to c4 or drop to c2 to back up a later d4. The play revolves around White's advanced e5-pawn and Black's attempts to undermine it.
