About the Dorfman Gambit

This line arises from the 3...Nc6 branch of the Moscow Variation. After 4. O-O Bd7 5. Qe2 g6, White does not continue quietly with c3 and d4 but plays 6. e5 at once. The pawn advance offers the e-pawn to open central files toward Black's uncastled king, with the queen on e2 and the rook ready for e1. It strikes before the fianchetto is finished and before Black has coordinated.
