A Rossolimo Sicilian line in which White answers the kingside fianchetto with 6. Qa4, using the queen to add pressure to the pinned c6-knight.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Totsky Attack
The Totsky Attack, 6. Qa4, departs from the usual plan in the 5. c3 Fianchetto Variation. Instead of striking at once with 6. d4, as in the Lutikov Gambit, White brings the queen to a4, where it lines up behind the b5-bishop against the knight on c6. The extra attacker on c6 threatens to win material or force concessions there, and White can still prepare d4 afterward, while Black aims to finish development and castle.
