A Sicilian O'Kelly line in which Black meets the Venice System with 3...d5 and 4...Nf6, offering a pawn rather than recapturing on d5 with the queen.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Gambit Line
After 3...d5 4. exd5, Black does not recapture with 4...Qxd5, the usual Alapin-style reaction. Instead 4...Nf6 develops a piece and leaves White a pawn ahead, temporarily at least, with doubled pawns on the d-file. Black's idea is to win back the d5-pawn later or use the lead in development and the half-open central files, rather than spend time with an exposed queen in the center.
