A rare gambit against the O'Kelly Sicilian in which White offers the b-pawn with 3. b4 to deflect Black's c-pawn and build a broad center.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Wing Gambit
The Wing Gambit against the O'Kelly Variation offers the b-pawn on move three. The aim is to lure Black's c-pawn away from the center so that White can follow with an early d4 and a broad pawn center. Most players accept with 3...cxb4, and Black scores somewhat better in that line. The declining 3...e6 is rarer and has gone well for White in online games. The engine rates the position as roughly balanced, and the line remains an uncommon sideline.
