About the Perenyi Gambit

The Perenyi Gambit is White's sharpest answer to 7...e5 in the Delayed Keres (Perenyi or Hungarian) Attack. White does not retreat the f5-knight, which would drop the g4-pawn. Instead, 9. g5 leaves the knight en prise and attacks the f6-knight. After 9...gxf5 White can regain the piece with 10. gxf6. The alternative, 10. exf5 Ng8 11. f6, gives up the knight to box in Black's kingside pieces. The resulting play is highly complex.
