Train it in TheoriaAbout the Gary Gambit
The Gary Gambit, also known as the Kasparov Gambit, replaces the Hedgehog-oriented 8...Be7 with the immediate central break 8...d5. It aims to exploit White's offside knight on a3. After 9. cxd5 exd5 10. exd5 Nb4, Black puts development ahead of regaining the pawn. Kasparov used it twice in the 1985 World Championship. It fell out of master practice after the refinement 11. Be2 Bc5 12. Be3 Bxe3 13. Qa4+, which forks king and knight.
