A sharp, rarely played Slav Defense line in which White meets 9...Ne4 with 10. g4, launching an early kingside pawn storm against the castled king.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Sämisch Variation
The Sämisch Variation is White's most aggressive answer to 9...Ne4 in the Dutch Variation of the Czech Slav. Black's knight occupies e4 to block White's central break and offer exchanges, and White usually replies 10. Bd3 or 10. Nxe4. Instead, 10. g4 hits the f5-bishop and begins a rapid pawn advance against Black's king. It is a rare choice, so Black facing 9...Ne4 needs to have it prepared.
