Train it in TheoriaAbout the Lasker Variation
The Lasker Variation, 6...Na6, aims the queen's knight at b4, the square White loosened with 5. a4, rather than preparing ...e6 and ...Bb4. Lasker introduced it against Boris Verlinsky in 1925, and it is now rarely seen. White can carry on normally with 7. Bxc4 Nb4 8. O-O e6 9. Qe2, after which e4 follows without difficulty. The alternative 9. Ne5 transposes to a Krause Attack line with ...Na6.
