Winawer Countergambit, Anti-Winawer Gambit

The Anti-Winawer Gambit answers the Winawer Countergambit 3...e5 with the immediate 4. e4. White mirrors Black's central thrust instead of capturing with 4. dxe5 or exchanging first with 4. cxd5. White's pawns on c4, d4 and e4 now face Black's on d5 and e5, with material level, mutual captures available and Black to move, so the game becomes open and tactical at once. It is the most direct alternative to the quieter 4. Nf3 and 4. e3.
