A sharp Vienna Gambit line in which White castles and leaves the f3-knight to be taken, sacrificing a piece for rapid development and an attack.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Hamppe-Muzio Gambit
The Hamppe-Muzio Gambit meets the pawn attack on the f3-knight by castling instead of moving the piece, in the spirit of the King's Gambit Muzio, aiming to open the f-file against Black's king. Black nearly always accepts with 6...gxf3, leaving White a piece down but ahead in development and pressing on f7. The engine considers Black clearly better, although White scores well in the Lichess sample, and the play is highly tactical.
