Train it in TheoriaAbout the Alekhine Variation
The Alekhine Variation is the restrained branch of the fork trick in the Stanley Variation. After 5...Be7 6. Nf3 Nc6, White wins back the pawn with 7. Nxe5, restoring material equality and aiming knight and queen at f7. Black's best answer is considered to be 7...g6, harassing the queen, which can retreat to e2, or White may reply 8. Nxc6. The play is far quieter than the Frankenstein-Dracula Variation.
