Train it in TheoriaAbout the Eifel Gambit
The Eifel Gambit arises after 3...Bc5, the most frequent reply to the Stanley Variation, when White develops with 4. Nge2 and keeps the f-pawn free to advance. Black then plays 4...b5, which attacks the c4-bishop and offers the b-pawn to either the bishop or the c3-knight. In return Black hopes to displace the bishop from its post bearing on d5 and f7 and to gain time for development.
