Train it in TheoriaAbout the Shabalov Gambit
The Shabalov Gambit arises from an English-style position in which White has played c4, Nc3 and g3 while Black has prepared queenside expansion with ...e6, ...a6 and ...c5. With 4...b5 Black strikes at the c4-pawn before White's bishop reaches g2. If White captures on b5, Black gives up a pawn in return for open a- and b-files and queenside activity. If White declines, material stays level and the play keeps a Symmetrical English flavor.
