Train it in TheoriaAbout the Double Duck Formation
The Double Duck Formation arises after 1. f4 f5 2. d4 d5. Both sides have placed their d- and f-pawns side by side, producing a fully symmetrical structure. Each side gains an outpost in front of the opponent's pawns, on e4 for Black and on e5 for White, and the play tends to be closed and slow. White usually continues 3. e3, heading for a Stonewall setup, or 3. Nf3. The engine considers the position roughly balanced, and White scores well in Lichess games.
