Train it in TheoriaAbout the Endgame Variation
With 4. dxe5 White takes the pawn on e5 and allows an early queen trade. Nearly three-quarters of games continue 4...Qxd1+, after which White chooses between 5. Kxd1, giving up castling, and 5. Nxd1, undeveloping the knight. Lines such as 5. Kxd1 Nc6 6. Nxe4 Nxe5 reach a level ending with few winning chances. Keeping queens on with 4...Nc6 scores poorly for Black. The engine rates the position as roughly balanced.
