A rare reply to the Lemberger Countergambit in which White develops the bishop to e3 to support d4, keeping queens on in a gambit position.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Soller Attack
The Soller Attack, 4. Be3, meets the Lemberger Countergambit by developing the dark-squared bishop to support d4. White neither exchanges on e5 nor recaptures on e4, so the queens stay on and Black stays a pawn ahead. Black usually captures with 4...exd4, while 4...Bb4 and 4...Nc6 are less common. Engines give Black a slight edge, although White scores somewhat better in online games.
