About the Fianchetto Gambit

After 6. cxd5 Bg7, Black does not recapture on d5 at once. This leaves White a pawn up, and Black relies on quick development and the bishop's pressure along the long diagonal against d4. White's task is to keep the extra pawn. 7. Bc4, the most common reply and the engine's first choice, guards d5 directly. 7. Nf3 develops, and 7. Bb5+ gains time with a check. The engine rates the game roughly balanced, and practical results are almost even.
