Train it in TheoriaAbout the Lanc-Arnold Gambit
The Lanc-Arnold Gambit arises after 3. Nf3 Bc5. Here White skips the transposition to the Classical Scotch with 4. Nxd4 Nc6. Instead, 4. c3 offers a pawn to open lines and speed up development. Black accepts with 4...dxc3 in most games, and 5. Bc4, the Schippler Gambit, follows by putting the bishop on the diagonal toward f7. The engine rates the position as roughly balanced, and White scores well on Lichess.
