Train it in TheoriaAbout the Double Fianchetto
The Double Fianchetto arises when Black meets 3. g3 with 3...b6 4. Bg2 Bb7. The queenside bishop opposes White's fianchettoed bishop on the long light diagonal, while ...Bg7 is still to come. Black contests the center with pieces rather than pawns. The usual reply is 5. O-O. The rarer 5. b3 has scored well for White, and the engine also favors 5. d4. White keeps a slight edge, though practical results are close to even.
