About the Full Symmetry

With 5...d6 Black copies White's setup exactly. Each side has a fianchettoed king's bishop and a knight on its third rank, and the only difference is that White has the move. The engine rates the position as roughly balanced. 6. Nf3 is the most frequent reply and scores well for White. 6. e4 enters the Botvinnik System. The rarer 6. e3 has favored Black in practice.
