About the with Nb6

With 6...Nb6 Black withdraws the d5-knight from the long diagonal, where the fianchettoed bishop eyes it, rather than leaving it in place and developing with 6...Bc5. From b6 the knight still watches d5 and c4 from a less exposed post. White nearly always castles with 7. O-O, and 7. d3 is the main alternative. The engine also considers 7. a3. The position is balanced, and results are almost evenly split between the two sides.
