A Grob Opening line in which Black meets White's h3 with the developing 2...Nc6, a classical setup that leaves Black clearly better.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the London Defense
The London Defense answers the Grob with 1...e5. After White supports the g-pawn with 2. h3, Black plays 2...Nc6, which develops a piece, reinforces e5 and adds control of d4 instead of starting early operations on the kingside. By far the most common reply is 3. Bg2, which places the bishop on the long diagonal. The rarer 3. f3 and 3. e3 also occur, while the engine prefers 3. c4. It rates Black as clearly better, and Black outscores White in practice.
