Train it in TheoriaAbout the Cordel Line
The Cordel Line meets 6. d4 in the Anderssen Variation with 6...Na5, attacking the c4-bishop at once rather than defending e5. Once the knight leaves c6, the e5-pawn has no defender. White therefore chooses between saving the bishop with 7. Bd3, the most common move, and regaining material with 7. Nxe5. The third option, 7. Bxf7+, scores poorly for White in practice. The engine rates the position as balanced, and results are almost exactly even.
