Train it in TheoriaAbout the Bronstein Defense
The Bronstein Defense answers 6. d4 with 6...d6, holding the extra pawn by bolstering e5 with a pawn rather than taking on d4 as in the Pierce Defense. The center stays closed for now, and White must decide how to use the lead in development. The Tartakower Attack, 7. Qb3, is the most frequent reply and targets f7, while 7. O-O is nearly as popular. 7. dxe5 and the Sokolsky Variation, 7. Bg5, are less common. Results are close to even, and the engine rates the position as roughly balanced.
