About the Tartakower Attack

The Tartakower Attack answers the Bronstein Defense, 6...d6, with 7. Qb3, lining the queen up with the c4-bishop against f7 and making use of the b3-square freed by 5. c3. Black must cover f7: 7...Qd7 is the usual reply and scores well, whereas 7...Qe7 has fared much worse in practice, and the engine also considers 7...Nh6. The move is credited with reviving the gambit, and the engine rates the position roughly balanced despite Black's extra pawn.
