Train it in TheoriaAbout the Bledow Variation
The Bledow Variation, 3...d5, hands back the gambit pawn immediately. In return Black opens lines for the pieces and blunts the bishop's aim at f7. White nearly always captures with 4. Bxd5, while 4. exd5 is less common and scores poorly. A line cited from the Bilguer Handbuch and by Korchnoi and Zak runs 4. Bxd5 Nf6 5. Nc3 Bb4 6. Nf3 Bxc3 7. dxc3 c6 8. Bc4 Qxd1+ 9. Kxd1 O-O 10. Bxf4 Nxe4 and is judged equal. Engines rate the starting position as slightly better for Black.
