About the First Jaenisch Variation

The First Jaenisch Variation answers 4. Kf1 with 4...Nf6, developing the knight and striking at the e4-pawn while the queen remains on h4. White almost always replies 5. Nf3, gaining a tempo against the queen. 5. Nc3, guarding e4, is a regular alternative. Engines give Black a slight edge, but White has scored somewhat better in online games.
