A sharp King's Gambit Accepted line in which Black holds the f4-pawn with ...d6, ...h6 and ...g5 while White undermines the chain with h4.
Train it in TheoriaAbout the Greco Gambit
The Greco Gambit combines the Fischer Defense idea 3...d6 with ...h6 and ...g5. After 4. Bc4 h6 5. d4 g5 6. h4 Bg7, Black guards the extra f4-pawn with a kingside chain backed by the fianchettoed bishop, and White attacks that chain with h4. The capture 7. hxg5 is the most frequent reply but scores well for Black. 7. Nc3 and 7. c3 reinforce the center, while 7. Qd3 leads to the Schultz Variation of the Philidor Gambit. Engines slightly favor Black.
